With a focus to improve learning outcomes among primary school children through public - private partnership, Kannada Vachana Karyakrama (KVK), Kannada Reading program was rolled out in selected government schools of city.

KVK programme was hitherto being run in government schools through Pratham volunteers. With an aim to improve the reading ability of children in 60 days, this programme has now been handed over to government teachers of a few selected government schools.

KVK programme was implemented at the District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) Mysore, on 28-07-2006. 24 Government school teachers were trained in this programme.
