Knowledge Bridge Program
Many among the poor and less educated live all their lives not finding answers to many simple
questions that arise in their minds. Questions as simple as "why does the sun rise and set each day?",
"why does it rain?", "what is the wind and why does it blow?", "importance of trees", etc.
Many among the educated and well informed (be it an executive, a house wife, a student)
have a desire to share their knowledge with others, a desire to give back something to the society, but
lack an opportunity to do so.
Pratham Mysore provides an opportunity for these two sections of society to interact together
in their new program called the Knowledge Bridge.
A list of subjects and questions from groups of students who are looking for knowledge, information and
improving their skills is collected by Pratham Mysore. These questions are made available to the
volunteers who wish to provide answers. A volunteer can select any subject of his or her choice and
prepare in a manner that will be understood by students in the age group of 10-15 years.
All efforts must be made to make the subject non-technical and easy to understand.
The volunteer is responsible for collecting all data on the subject, preparing models, charts,
diagrams, presentations, videos etc.
The venue for this activity is identified by Pratham Mysore and relayed to the volunteer 2 weeks in advance.
The program is set up to occur only on a Saturday afternoon between 4pm and 6pm. Each session lasts
for 60 minutes only, of which 45 minutes are devoted for the presentation and 15 minutes for questions and
answers.
This program is a volunteer activity and does not involve any monetary benefits.
Participation is free of cost. A volunteer may contribute from one hour a month to more. He or she can even
participate in organizing such programs.
Interested volunteers may contact Mr. Mahesh on 99869-84290
or register through our Volunteer profile or simply
write to us expressing your desire to participate in this
program.
