Pratham Mysore is a NGO (not for profit non-governmental organisation) established 2002 with a stated objective to ensure that ‘every child is in school and learning well’. It focuses mainly on improving quality of learning of children studying in government primary and secondary schools. Towards this, it collaborates with with the government, local communities, teachers, volunteers trained by Pratham and civil society members. Pratham Mysore endeavours to supplement the efforts of the government in elementary education within the existing infrastructure and prescribed academic curriculum. The strategies adopted to teach are simple yet innovative using low cost learning materials developed by Pratham and continuously monitoring and measuring outcomes of such initiatives.
Pratham Mysore has its headquarters in Mysore and its education initiatives are in six Districts in Karnataka including Bangalore North, Mandya, Nanjungud, Chamarajanagar, Mysore rural, extending up to Ron in Dharvad District.
Pratham Mysore is an associate of Pratham India, also an NGO with a national presence and with similar goals and objectives.
Pratham Mysore’s services are governed by a Board of Trustees and Advisers
